Friends of Unity September Blog Hop ~ Color Challenge

 Welcome, friends!

And welcome to our September FOU (Friends of Unity) Blog Hop

September means we are soooo close to Fall. Ahh how I wish that meant cooler temps in Texas.

Regardless, I am blessed and thankful for this season!

This months cue is a beautiful Color Challenge

This months hop is interactive! We invite you to play along with us! Use the color scheme below and post to our Challenge album in the Unity Show & Tell group.  Also, be sure to TAG ME and use the hashtag #friendsofunitybloghop when you post to your social media. I'll pick a separate winner to send a small prize pack! Excited to see your makes!

This was indeed a challenge for me as (though I have tons of it) I never use kraft paper! After several fails, and persistent determination, I made 2 cards I absolutely love!

Now more than ever I want to remind others how grateful I am for their presence in my life.  My first card uses a sentiment that helps me express this, It's from the September 2021 Sentiment Kit

I plan to keep this senti stamp out as it has become a favorite. I have a bowl of favorite senti stamps on my desk for easy access!

The bottom panel of both cards were die cut using Scalloped Stitched Rectangles by Gina Marie Designs. I wish I could recall who the leaf dies are by, but unfortunately they were not in the original packaging.

Did you happen to notice the subtle embossed trees on the top panel?? I just adore this embossing folder by Darice called Dotted Trees!

This next card uses an old favorite of mine. This beautifully designed coffee cup by Angie called Flutters to Go. I love using this image when gifting a Starbucks gift card. The green on the butterflies is Zigs Mid Green. It mimics the color sage so well. The sentiment is from the June 2021 Sentiment Kit

I used just a hint of my beige Zig brush pen to add a bit of faux kraft color to the coffee cup. I just love the softness of the three colors together. I sure hope you play along!

The embossed panel is from a Cuttlebug folder called Forest. I forget about my embossing folders! Do you? They add such a wonderful element to my cards!

always like to know which card is your favorite!! Mine is definitely the one with the leaves. It is just so clean and classy!

My hope is that you read through the entire blog. Makes my heart so happy thinking you do!

Friends of Unity August Blog Hop ~ Let’s Go for a Ride

Welcome, friends! And welcome to our August Blog Hop!

This months cue is Let's go for a Ride.

I wish I had the set called For the Guys. I would have made a card from each image!

My first card may look familiar as I accidently shared it last week forgetting I wanted to save it for this blog hop. I did make some changes to it though! Can you tell?
This amazing vintage truck is from the August KOM.

(Here's the original)

(and here's the change)

The ground is obvious, but can you see the several subtle differences?? :)

The first one is much more soft, but I do love the striking changes!

Honest opinion! before or after?

My next card uses the bicycle from the March 2020 KOM and the sentiment from one of my favorite sentiment sets called Having Hope. I love and appreciate that Unity is such a diverse stamp company and provides so many faith based stamps.

The awesome peekaboo die is by Gina Marie Designs

(I truly love black and white cards.)

Notice the offset of the bicycle? I did this in order for the verse number to show. This is a card that wont fit in it's A2 envelope so I will either enclose it in a card box or atop a gift.

always like to know which card is your favorite!! Mine is definitely the vintage truck!

Friends of Unity June Blog Hop ~ Masculine

Hello, friends! Welcome to our June Friends of Unity Blog Hop!

Our cue this month is Masculine cards.

Do you struggle with Masculine cards?? I sure do! I look forward to the inspiration from my friends in this hop to make more!

My first card is a new Graciellie Design kit "BBQ King" that was just released this past week! Did you order it??

It is such a fun kit and perfect for summer, bbq invites and of course Fathers Day!

I love how the burgers and skewers look popped up over the grill!

My second card is made using the vintage car and a sentiment from "You are a Classic". (This set is on sale now;) I thought so much of my dad as I was making this card. He was a wonderful human and daddy. I learned so much from him and miss him so very much.

I'll admit I struggled terribly with being happy on the outcome of this card. I know, as creators, we all experience this!

The BG paper is also from Unity. A paper pack called "Cozy Christmas".

always like to know which card is your favorite!! Mine is definitely the BBQ King!

Friends of Unity May Blog Hop ~ Flora & Fauna

Hello, friends!

Welcome to May and welcome to our Friends of Unity Blog Hop!

This months cue is Flora & Fauna. Which is simply plants and animals in nature. Such a beautiful cue!

Insects are a diverse group of the natural animal kingdom, and since I am an insect lover it made sense for me to use them! :)

This butterfly moth topped floral cluster beautifully screams Flora and Fauna! Such a gorgeous stamp from the February 2020 Sentiment Kit. This sentiment and floral cluster are also heat embossed. I find myself heat embossing so many of my stamped sentis and images.
love the texture it gives to the card!

These dragonflies, from a Graciellie Design set called Hope & Strength, are just gorgeous. Especially in black and white! I embossed them onto vellum and love the soft, but magnificent, look it gives them. The Wonky Stripes BG is a new favorite of mine! I stamped in VersaFine Nocturne (also found at Unity) and heat embossed. It gives it a fantastic bumby and grainy texture.

(His mercies are new every morning, friends.)

I always like to know which card is your favorite!!

My hope is that you read through the entire blog. Makes my heart so happy thinking you do!

March Friends of Unity Blog Hop ~ FOU Sketch

Hello, friends! Welcome to our March Friends of Unity Blog Hop!

This months que is an FOU Sketch challenge. And guess what!? You get to play along! Be sure to save this sketch image, create your own card using the prompt and tag me in the Unity Show and Tell group! I am truly excited to see you all play along with us!

I wish I had been able to make more than one card, but I do so love the card I was able to create using this sketch!

This lovely bird is from the June 2020 KOM called Change the World. I hadn't used him yet and just fell in love with this stamp! I really had fun layering different colors from my Altenew watercolor pan set. I love to color my birds after a specific classifications. This one I colored after the sparrow. I just love the finished look to him!

The sentiment is from a recently new set called Gotta Love Sentiments. It has 14 various sentiments in this same font style.

I am loving the vine wreath that rests behind him. I purchased it from Gina Marie Designs. (She has the best and best priced metal dies on the market!)

Be creative as you follow the sketch guideline putting your own twist on each section. As I did here with the hearts in the upper right!

Both background papers I used on this card are from the Unity Stamp Co. paper set called Rustic Wood. If you have not checked out Unity's long list of custom 6x6 designer paper packs, you must!

I hope you love this card as much as I do!

My hope is that you read through the entire blog. Makes my heart so happy thinking you do!

January 2021Friends of Unity Blog Hop ~ Black & White

Hello, friends! Welcome to my January blog and welcome to 2021!

There is so much to be said regarding 2020 and our hopes for 2021. Let me just say; may this year bring you blessings beyond measure.

I love this months cue of Black & White. There is so much beauty in simplicity and b&w is the most beautiful of all.

My first card (and favorite of the 4) was made using the gorgeous swag and make you think senti from Start Anew. How appropriate. Maybe it should read, "last year was heavy, put it down".

This next card is a beauty using the gorgeous window scene from Outside your Window. The senti is from the set Just Because.  This is one of those cards that is soooo much prettier in person!

This card uses the beautiful flowers and a happy birthday senti from the July 2020 Sentiment Kit called Aging Gorgeously. (The top panel die is from Gina Marie Designs called bit little chain.)

This final card uses on the gorgeous houses from Warm Wishes for you Home. This makes such a beautiful winter card.

I would love to know which card is your favorite!

I did not have good lighting today for theses photos. Poo!! They are so much prettier bright and white!

My hope is that you read through the entire blog. Makes my heart so happy thinking you do!
