Friends of Unity May Blog Hop ~ Favorite Angie Girl/Guy

Hello, friends! Welcome to our May Friends of Unity Blog Hop!

Our cue this month is sure to be everyone's favorite as we all absolutely love the Angie Girls and Angie Guys line of stamps with Unity Stamp Co.

I have so many favorites, but decided I had to narrow it down. So I chose a favorite Angie Girl and a favorite Angie Guy.

Sawyer Guy is by far my favorite Angie Guy. Of course he is made in the image of and named after Angela's very own son Sawyer! Sorry Brian Guy, you are a close 2nd favorite now! ;)

This card is a requested recreation to a card I had made in February. I love it. You can see the original Sawyer card here. The two cards are very similar yet different. I would love to know which is your favorite of the two!

This next card is  Beatrix Girl and she is very special to me in two ways. A year ago yesterday, Angela invited me to become a member of her Unity Design Team and Beatrix Girl was my the first card I made using my new DT watermark. Also, I emulate her entirely when I am in my natural element at our farmhouse in Arkansas. I love everything about this image!

You can see the first card I did using Beatrix Girl here on my Instagram. I just realize I colored her almost exactly the same. Love it!! I sure have gotten better at grounding my images since I first created with her!

I would love to know who your favorite Angie Girl/Guy is!

This weekend Unity Stamp Co is celebrating 12 years! In honor of Unity's birthday celebration, there is a fantastic flash sale and the most incredible new releases with an introduction to a new stamp designer. I encourage you to visit Unity for the new releases. Also, help me in congratulating my friend Sandhya for her absolutely beautiful new releases. In both rubber and digital stamps!

 As always~

Friends of Unity April Blog Hop ~ Sketch Challenge

Hi, friends!

Welcome to our April Friends of Unity Blog Hop!

This months cue is a sketch challenge! I love sketch challenges, but rarely do them. How fun these were to create from a sketch idea!

Below you can find a photo of the sketch if you would like to play along with our challenge this month. And I hope that you do! As a matter of fact, for those of you who do play along using any Unity Stamp Co stamp and tag me in their post, I have a separate give away for one of you!

This first card is completely inspired by those serving us on the front lines as we combat this current season of life we are in. My prayer is that it will bring encouragement and offer gratitude.

I love this heart with the intertwined branches and beautiful foliage from a Graciellie Design set called "Here's to love and friends". The sentiment is from the May 2016 Sentiment Kit called "you can and you will".

Forgive the dullness of the photos. I had little light to work with.

I had fun just being free to allow the background to flow and create on it's own! Can't you tell! Hahaha!! After I was done with the messy background I splattered white paint on both the panel and the bg letting if fall where it pleased. ;)

I try to purchase nearly every sentiment kit. There are so many sentiments (and a few images) included in every single set that can be used for so many occasions.

The flower stem, (I have even used them as leaves), and sentiment I used in this next card are from the October 2018 Sentiment Kit called "I am with you" designed by Graciellie. This kit is absolutely beautiful. One I encourage you to have in your collection.

I love smooshed backgrounds and images like these look fantastic popped up on top. I use a sandwich baggie with distress inks for this smoosed background. And of course I love adding a bit of paint splatter!

My hope and prayer is this verse from Exodus will replace fear with hope and faith. I will be sending this card to offer a glimmer of hope to someone struggling to see past what our world is facing.

It is hard to know what to say in this present hour. If I can offer any amount of encouragement it is that my own hope and faith still lie in the one I draw my strength from daily. My Lord and Savior. Jesus Christ. He never promised their wouldn't be trouble, He promised He would always be our strength in times of trouble.

As always~

Friends of Unity February Blog Hop~ Monochromatic

Welcome to February, friends!
And welcome to our Friends of Unity February Blog Hop where we are seeing everything in monochromatic style!

I've always loved the look of monochromatic in crafting, but I rarely create with this concept. I am not sure why because the results are always beautiful! As a matter of fact, I loved creating this first card so very much that I can't wait until I make another.

I love ALL Unity Stamps, but I must admit the Angie Girls will always be my favorite. I know many of you share my sentiment towards this line!

This beautiful lady is Journee Girl , and she was a dream to color in monochromatic style!
I absolutely love the coloring on every part of her! She was pretty quick to watercolor now that I have been using Zig brush pens for a few years. I did include a link to the brush pens I used incase you are unfamiliar, but is not an affiliate link. ;)

The top panel is from a die I purchased at Gina Marie Designs called Rectangle Pierced Die. I do believe it is sold out, but hopefully will be back! I buy all of my Enamel Dots from her!

This card is going to a young lady in our bible study group who is facing a new beginning of her own. I am certain this sentiment will encourage, and even perhaps, empower her!

I have been wanting to use this Sweet Sprinkled Donut set by Graciellie Designs. And this months cue was the perfect time! I am loving the outcome of this purple mono style! The donut and sentiments are all stamped in VersaFine Clair ink in Monarch. I stamp all of my images in Versafine Clair. And you can get them from Unity!

You can't tell in the photo, but I traced the squiggle lines on the donut and filled the heart hole with these beautiful Nuvo Jewel Drops in Pale Periwinkle. Oh how I wish you could see and touch the amazing effect it gave! Did you know can get these drops and more at Unity!

I stamped and watercolored the donut first, loosely watercolored around it and then stamped my sentiments. :)

I would love to see your take on the monochromatic design!

Friends of Unity~ Favorite Unity stamp of 2019

Hello friends!

Welcome to 2020 and welcome to our January Friends of Unity Blog Hop!

This months cue is Favorite Unity stamp of 2019. Talk about difficult! I have soooo many favorites! I was able to narrow it down to two.

This card uses the absolutely beautiful woman from Angie Blom's My Heart Trusts and a sentiment from Graciellie Designs set called My Soul Finds Rest. Saved by love is only part of a sentiment from this set. I love that I can just stamp a portion of a sentiment to best fit what the image is saying.

I watercolored her hair and shirt with Zig Keuretake markers. On her skin I used a classics color palette from Prima. I'm loving this stencil from Tailored Expressions. I wasn't sure I would like the color of the Distress Oxide as a background to the image, but I truly love it. I did test the color on a scrap piece of watercolor paper and was surprised by how yellow it is. It is a really beautiful color.

I see myself when I look at this image. I have indeed been saved by love. I have love that has captured both my heart and my soul. The soft expression on her face and the placement of her hands over her heart echo my sentiments when I think of the sacrifice on the cross.

My hope and prayer is that this year brings you a peace we all search for. And a reminder that you, too, have been saved by love.

Please, share with me your favorite 2019 stamp(s) from Unity. I challenge you to create a new make with your favorite(s) and would love a tag so that I may see it!
