Friends of Unity December Blog Hop - Favorites

Welcome to our December Blog Hop,  Friends! Our last Friends of Unity Hop for 2020.

It is also our 3rd Anniversary since this Hop was created by some of the best crafty ladies I know! I am so blessed to be a part of this team! Crystal & Amber, thank you for creating a place for us to share our love for Unity Stamp Co products and for offering another incredible community of crafters and like minded friends!

I was in such a slump last month that I put extra effort and heart into this months creations.

Our cue for this month is My Favorite Things. I love so many stamps from Unity so I created several cards using some of my favorite images and sentiments!

Because I have sooo many favorites, this blog is longer than usual. I sure hope you will follow along, friends.😊

My first card was made using Beatrix Girl. She is my favorite Angie Girl and reminds me so much of ME! Especially when at our farmhouse in Arkansas.

This is one of my all time favorite sentiments from a Tierra Jackson set called Unique.

Greens and browns are my favorite colors! Can you tell?!

I so want this exact outfit!!

This next card was made using my favorite coloring technique. Monochromatic coloring! Especially in shades of beige. I love this beautiful Angie Girl, as well! She is Emerson Girl.

The sentiment is another of my favorites from a Graciellie Design set called Difficult Roads.

Put a skirt on this beauty and I want this outfit, as well. You??

This 3rd card was made using my absolute favorite background stamp called A Faithful Letter. I'm loving this sentiment from the set One of those people. No coloring needed. ❤

In person you can see the background underneath the vellum much better. I used the picket fence Distress Ink on the background panel just under the sentiment so that it would be more legible.
I love it. ❤

Every year in November and December I make my calendar cards. They have become my favorite gift to mail to family and friends. This stamp set by Graciellie called Difficult Roads has always been my absolute favorite to use on the calendar cards. And just recently she came out with a new cotton set called Simply Blessed. It is also beautiful!

Btw, I have just a few extra 2021 calendars I won't get to if you would like a couple. Let me know!

The sentiments used on each of the calendar cards are from another Graciellie set called Hope and Strength. A truly beautiful set, friends. (The one with the stunning dragonflies.)

Because each of these cards where quick to put together, I made them all in one day. Crazy huh! There was minimal coloring for the most part so it was quite easy. 😏

I would love to know which cards are your favorite!

I hope and pray you have a truly Merry & Blessed Christmas. Whether with family or alone, there is reason to celebrate as we remember the Saviors birth. And, if alone on Christmas, please reach out to me and I'll offer a word of encouragement and love. Here, or here . 💓

My hope is that you read through the entire blog. Makes my heart so happy when you do!

Friends of Unity November Blog Hop~ Backgrounds

Hello, friends! Welcome to our November Friends of Unity Blog Hop!

This months focus is on backgrounds. This can be a challenge for many, including myself! I do more CAS cards and very few with backgrounds.

However, I looked forward to the challenge, had fun and very happy with what I created!

Keep in mind, backgrounds don't always have to be created using a "background" stamp.

This first stamp card was created using the background stamp "A Faithful Letter". I absolutely love how Lisa and Charmain incorporated various scripture to create this amazing stamp.

I wanted to bring attention to a specific verse so I cut it out and popped it up. Loving how the splatter of gold brings this card together.

For my second card I used a recent new release "A Little Christmas Carol". This is a precious background stamp full of different Christmas themed songs.

Here as well, I wanted to showcase a specific line so I cut out what spoke to me most and popped it up. Doesn't the red just make it all pop!

My final and most fun card was made using my friend Jeanie's (Washie Horse Designs) stamp called "Thanks so Mush". I loved creating a background with this stamp and popping up colord mushrooms to a b&w background!

I would love to know which card was your favorite!

Friends of Unity October Blog Hop ~ Birthday

Hello, friends! Welcome to October!!

But, where did September go?? Seriously, did it fly by as quick for you as it did for me??

And hey, Happy World Card Making Day! WCMD is always the first Saturday of October and created to encourage making handmade cards. I love that. I plan to make a card or 2 today and hope you can, too! Be sure to tag me if you do! I’d love to see!

I do love October though! And, I love this months cue! Birthdays!

My mother turned 70 yesterday! She still looks, and happily acts, like she's in her 50's! I love it and I love her so very much. I have 2 granddaughters with birthdays this month. Syvalee turns 3 tomorrow and Fenley turns 2 on the 8th. :) :) So so sweet!

Any birthdays this month??  I'd love to know!
(Our very own Dawn B and Kim K are having October birthdays!:)

Each one of my cards are made from KOM stamps. What I love about the KOM is there are so many stamps in each set and they are truly versatile!

This first card is from the June 2017 KOM called "TIME TO ENJOY LIFE".

This girl is so beautiful and so classy! The DSP is also from Unity called Birthday Party. It is a gorgeous pack of quality paper.

This next card is from the December 2018 KOM called "BEST FRIEND TIL THE END". (Using the same sentiment from the KOM above.)

This was my first time using this girl and she is gorgeous! I made this card specifically for a friend who's milestone birthday I missed!! I'm loving how well all the different colors blend so nicely together.

I love dimension on a card!

My last, and probably favorite, card is from the June 2020 KOM called "CHANGE THE WORLD".

This lady is just beautiful. It was my first time using her, as well.

I don't always keep the sentiment on the front of a birthday card as a birthday greeting. Often times I picture the recipient wanting to display the card and I love for the visual sentiment to have really special meaning. The inside, then, will contain the birthday greeting! Handmade greeting cards are wonderful for displaying in the home.

I loved using from my huge stash of DSP on each of these cards. It made me realize I do not use my beautiful pattern papers near enough.

I would LOVE to know which card is YOUR favorite!

Friends of Unity September Blog Hop ~ Friendship

Hello, friends! Welcome to our Friends of Unity September Blog Hop!

This months cue is about Friendship.

Friendship is described as a mutual affection between people.

Many of us know a lot of people, but often have a very small circle of close friends. I've read that there are  those we consider good friends, close friends and true friends. I have all and consider myself so incredibly blessed. Like many of you, I have formed many wonderful friendships through the crafting community that fill a void of friendship I didn't know I needed. For that, I say thank you.

This first card is for my best friend of 38 years. We now live states apart, but our friendship has remained close over the years. I miss her terribly.

This beautiful and bold flower cluster is from the Friendship Blooms set. This set comes with 3 beautiful quotes, however, I chose to use the miss you sentiment from the "Sunflower Miss you, friend" itty bitty. The background paper is one of my absolute favorites to use. It is from the Unity paper pack by Graciellie Designs called "Coffee Lovers".

I am loving this next card. I didn't create it with anyone particular in mind. I knew with such a powerful statement it could really fit any of us! I'm thinking I should make up several cards with different images and include this statement. So many I could send a card like this to.

I so love this beautiful Angie Girl. Violet Girl. She has a sheek boho style that is so soft and engaging! You. Need. Her. The sentiment I used is from a Tierra Jackson winter set called "Unique". This sentiment is a favorite of mine that I have used so many times over the years.

I'd love to know which card is your favorite!

"He Restores My Soul"

Hello, friends!

It has been too long since I have created using a digital stamp from Polka Dot Orchard. If you are unfamiliar with them, I encourage you to follow the link above and browse through the abundant and incredible line of digital stamps!

Speaking of incredible digital stamp sets! Take a look at this amazing PDO set called "Make Time For Yourself" created by Jeanie Hays from Washi Horse Designs. I am in love! Obsessed!

There is an incredible sale going on right now, friends! I encourage you to take advantage of the huge discounts PDO is offering!

This set was an absolute dream to create with and I truly love how this card turned out. So many different and incredible ways to create with this set!

I can't explain to you how I felt making this card. The ability to express through a card, not only myself creatively, but of Gods amazing mercy and grace is truly an honor and privilege.

Imagine yourself on this swing. Reading your bible and rejoicing in the fact that He truly does restore...

Two of the main reasons I love creating with digital stamps is the ability to manipulate sizes and layer images. This makes the possibilities to create nearly endless! If you are new to digital stamps, or have never used them, I would love to share with you what I have learned. Feel free to reach out to me on social media. (links shared below)

Again, I encourage you to visit Polka Dot Orchard and purchase this amazing set. Be sure to peruse the entire line as I am certain you will find many sets you will want to add to your collection!

And hey...make time for yourself today.

You can see these cards, as well as, many others on my Instagram and/or Facebook!

As always~

Friends of Unity August Blog Hop ~ Sympathy

Hello, friends! Welcome to my blog and welcome to August!

This months theme is Sympathy. Some sympathy cards can be so hard to create, but oh what a tender message it sends the receiver. To me, sympathy cards do not always have to be about loss.

Both of my cards this month were fairly easy to create, and I absolutely love how they turned out.

This first card is going to a dear friend of mine who is in the hospital battling heart issues. Her faith is incredibly strong and trusts God is in control, but I know she is still frightened and alone during this time of distancing.

This was my first time using the flower and butterfly cluster from the Feb 2020 Sentiment Kit called "hope is a beautiful thing". How gorgeous is it in b&w splattered with copper! I see myself using this cluster on many cards with this very same style. So many amazing details to this image.

The Praying for you sentiment is from March 2018 Sentiment Kit called "mourning dove". There are so many beautiful and touching sentiments in this set.

Did you know that Unity sells the line of Clair inks? (as the one I've used here below) They are my go to inks for stamping my and sentiments!

This next card is for a dear family friend of ours who has fought brain tumors for many a year. They just discovered two more. He is one of the strongest and most humble of men I know. I am eager to get this card to him to let him know we are praying for him and encouraging him to battle on as he has done for many years!

I do not create very many masculine cards, but I knew immediately I wanted to use "A Faithful Letter" for this one. This stamp is an amazing collaboration of verses that offer hope and strength in God's promises for our future. Verses that bring peace no matter the situation at hand. This stamp is truly a new favorite of mine.

I purposely lightly stamped Faithful Letter in various areas using the distress ink called Hickory Smoke.

There's just something I love about the look of the "hugs and prayers" sentiment stamp I used from the February 2015 Sentiment Kit called "beautiful life, blessed memories". The words express exactly what I want to extend Bro Jimmy and I thought the font was perfect for a masculine card.

Friends of Unity May Blog Hop ~ Favorite Angie Girl/Guy

Hello, friends! Welcome to our May Friends of Unity Blog Hop!

Our cue this month is sure to be everyone's favorite as we all absolutely love the Angie Girls and Angie Guys line of stamps with Unity Stamp Co.

I have so many favorites, but decided I had to narrow it down. So I chose a favorite Angie Girl and a favorite Angie Guy.

Sawyer Guy is by far my favorite Angie Guy. Of course he is made in the image of and named after Angela's very own son Sawyer! Sorry Brian Guy, you are a close 2nd favorite now! ;)

This card is a requested recreation to a card I had made in February. I love it. You can see the original Sawyer card here. The two cards are very similar yet different. I would love to know which is your favorite of the two!

This next card is  Beatrix Girl and she is very special to me in two ways. A year ago yesterday, Angela invited me to become a member of her Unity Design Team and Beatrix Girl was my the first card I made using my new DT watermark. Also, I emulate her entirely when I am in my natural element at our farmhouse in Arkansas. I love everything about this image!

You can see the first card I did using Beatrix Girl here on my Instagram. I just realize I colored her almost exactly the same. Love it!! I sure have gotten better at grounding my images since I first created with her!

I would love to know who your favorite Angie Girl/Guy is!

This weekend Unity Stamp Co is celebrating 12 years! In honor of Unity's birthday celebration, there is a fantastic flash sale and the most incredible new releases with an introduction to a new stamp designer. I encourage you to visit Unity for the new releases. Also, help me in congratulating my friend Sandhya for her absolutely beautiful new releases. In both rubber and digital stamps!
