Creativity is a strong moving force behind everything I do. How encouraging it is when a creative thought becomes so tangible. I love being virtually surrounded by so many artists that help inspire and grow my creativity.
What inspires your creativity? For me, it's relationships. My relationship with Christ and my relationships with others. Almost everything I make is very personal. Inspired by and made specifically for someone, or because of someone. Even the relationship I have with myself often inspires a creation. Have you ever thought about the relationship you have with yourself? It is most impressionable and can either keep you hurting or allow you to heal. To grow. To become. To be your very best. I pray you love you.

This Angie Girl shouts creativity! She is my absolute favorite. For me, Peyton Girl is so relatable and completely personifies my style. Oh, and, I need her dress!
I absolutely adore how this tag turned out! I truly think it is one of my favorites I have ever made. I could watercolor her over and over. And I have! She is such a joy to work with. I am pretty sure she loves and knows who she is as an artist. Doesn't she display such a stance of confidence?? It's infectious!
Here are the details of the tag. It measures 3.25 x 8.5. The top and bottom DSP pieces are from Heidi Swapp's Emerson Lane collection and popped up with foam tape. The tassel is half of a tassel string I cut off one of my dresses. Haha. I love puffy heart stickers. These are from Amy Tangerine. (I think I bought them off Amazon). The sentiment is from the beautiful June 2017 Sentiment Kit "she never says never", by Lisa Arana. (I used Altenew watercolors on both projects.)
I am still not sure that I am completely happy with the card below. I do love it but, it is missing something. Thoughts on what I could have added to it? I made this for someone specific and can not wait to send it to her.
I love this sentiment. Notice how the word share is used 2x. I wonder if this was done because the artist is passionate about sharing. Personally, I feel sharing is one of the most selfless acts we can offer someone. Sharing of our time. Our knowledge. Our experiences. Our gifts and talents. Sharing of our abundance. This is the first time I have used this sentiment. It speaks to me and I am eager to use it again. If you have used this sentiment, or plan to, I would love to see your creation!
Here are the details of the card. It measures 5x7. I rarely make this size of card. The flags stapled to the corner are remnants from the DSP used on the above tag. Btw, the staple was inspired by Jeanie Hays. I've never used staples as a means to adhere. I love it! The sentiment is from "create, share, etc." The pretty blue barn door DSP that peeks from the side and bottom is from BoBunny Butterfly Kisses collection paper pad.
I would love to know which creation was your favorite! The tag or the card!?

ReplyDeleteCute!
ReplyDeleteLove all the layers & colors as well as the awesome design of the beautiful tag. Your coloring goes without saying (IMO). ;-) And the card is just as pretty. Love those ladies!
ReplyDeleteBoth gorgeous projects!! The tag is my favorite, love the papers and layout. But the card is gorgeous too, it looks great to me, but if you want to add something, maybe just a few sequins in the white space?
ReplyDeleteFabulous projects, what a great stamp too!
ReplyDeleteGreat projects, I love them both. Your coloring is so soft... you’re a natural with watercolors.
ReplyDeletePretty tag and card! Love the image you used and all the embellishments!

ReplyDeleteThey are both amazing cards, friend. I love your coloring, stamps, designs, and LOVE those sentiments. Just lovely, your recipients will love them. Thanks for your inspiration!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous tag and card! Fabulous watercoloring and designs. I love the image and bold sentiment on the card but the layers of papers and addition of ribbons on the tag captured my heart.
ReplyDeleteYour tag and card came out beautiful! Love the coloring. Love all of your creations and creativity! Thanks for sharing your talent, it is a source of great inspiration.
ReplyDeleteThere is so much i want to say about this! ...I'm always bown away by your warercoloring skills! You make these Angie girls come to life! I love how you make each thing personal. I was just making a generic birthday card earlier today and struggled with it. Making it personal makes all the difference. That tassle...i could just imagine you in a church Pew during a service and toying with the tassle thinking, "I need this for a tag!" So fun and creative! And I about spit out my coffee laughing when you said I inspired a staple! 😆 ☕ I do like staples! Your bottom card is just great. Your friend will love it!
ReplyDeletePretty! Very creative!
ReplyDeleteI love your tag! I'm never sure what to do with tags, I'd like them to look like more than "just a tag". This one does that. Your cards is beautiful as well.
ReplyDeleteI loved both pieces, Bobbie Sue. Your words are always an inspiration and so uplifting also. Thank you. Your coloring on this Angie girl is flawless and i think inwill
ReplyDeletePut her on my wishlist.
I so often forget about tags and then I see this and Wow!!! Thanks for the beautiful reminder and I love that sentiment on the card too!
ReplyDeleteI really like them both! But I am more partial to the card. Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteI like both the tag and the card, but think the tag is my favorite. I am all about embellishments so maybe you could add some buttons to the card? Anyway, both are beautifully creative!
ReplyDeleteThat sentiment is perfect for this challenge. Love how you used it on your projects. 😍😍
ReplyDeleteI love the way you used various papers for your tag, but I think the card is my favorite!
ReplyDeleteWow! Wow! Wow!
ReplyDeleteBoth your creations are really gorgeous!!!
My fave is the card! Love all the details, papers and colors!
Congrats Vannessa!!!
Fabulous Angie Girl creations! Outstanding watercoloring on both tag and card.....so hard to pick but I really love the tag best!
ReplyDeleteI always read your entire blog posts! It brings us closer, in my opinion 💙💙
ReplyDeleteI absolutely love them both! But you know me and I’m a sucker for tags! So I pick that one!
I’m not sure if any one thing inspires me- if I’m not inspired
(that happened at the beginning of he year if I’m being honest) then I turn to Pinterest
I can always find someone else’s card to inspire me... get me some ideas...
thanks for sharing!
Both the card and the tag are just beautiful but that tag...wow! I think the patterned paper pieces added at the top and bottom are what frame it perfectly, and the coloring is exquisite. The addition of that tassel adds wonderful texture, and I love that it's upcycled from clothing.
ReplyDeleteThey are both beautiful. I love the colors and all the details on the tag.
ReplyDeletePretty colors and papers on both. My fave is the tag.
ReplyDeleteLove both of these equally, Bobby Sue! Somehow I missed this girl was an artist! Beautiful sentiment coupling! Perfect artworks for this month!

ReplyDeleteThe stamp is so
pretty and love
the embellishments.

ReplyDeleteLove your style with the Girls!
ReplyDeleteLove this ♥️♥️
ReplyDeleteI really love the DSP pieces on the top and bottom- very unique and pretty!
I think both your tag and your card are amazing! I definitely need to have more of your attitude towards loving myself! I tend to feel very negative of myself!
ReplyDeleteI adore both of your projects- love the tassel and ribbon and the DP you used on the tag. The card is perfect just the way it is! Your write up is spot on- I say ditto!!! I need to remind myself- as I go through some back issues, to Thank God for all of the good in my life and not focus on the things I cannot do, etc...... I so love your enthusiasm!!!
ReplyDeleteYour tag and card are both amazing but I love the look of the tag so much. The tassel and papers that you used go perfectly with this beautiful design
