Friends of Unity Blog Hop February 2023~ All about the Sentiment

Hello, friends! Welcome to our February 2023 FOU Blog Hop.

This months hop is All about the Sentiment. There are so so many amazing sentiments it was hard to choose which I wanted to work with.

I prefer to use sentiments that have deep meaning, that speak life, that encourage and inspire.

As soon as I came across the sentiment from Gardenia Floral Border I knew it was meant for this project. An idea came immediately using it with Dream Girl, and as you'll see, it fit perfectly beside her beautiful face taking place of the original text.

I don't usually share the stamping process, but wanted you to see how easy it was to incorporate these two stamps. No masking was needed!

With this stamp it was so easy to only ink the face and not the text. Same with the sentiment stamp. It lined up so perfectly beside her image!

I'd say they were meant to be. 💗

This card tried me, y'all. I went a direction with it I wish I hadn't gone, but she came back strong and I love the finished card. See and hear the details. in a video on my Two38 Creations FB, of my near fiasco as I recorded myself creating this card!

You can see in the stamped photo above, the sentiment lined up perfectly with the image. I decided to draw a shirt on her and took it too far really throwing off how well lined up the image and the sentiment were. Nonetheless, she really turned out beautifully!

*****************************

Peyton Girl has always reminded me of myself. As a matter of fact I have a dress that looks near identical to this (minus the flowers) that I wear when working on the farm.

Again, the sentiment fit so well beside the image. This was meant for me and I am so blessed by it!

This very well may be a card I keep on display for myself. What a beautiful reminder to honor God with all I say and do. All I think and imagine.

Is it even possible to pick a favorite between the two cards?!?!

I hope you love these as much as I do! Every time I make a card with such powerful words as these my spirit is so encouraged...

I hope you’ll  join our cue and create some new cards using one (or several) of your favorite sentiments! Please, TAG ME if you do. I would truly love to see them!

My hope is that you read through the entire blog. Makes my heart so happy thinking you do!

As always~

  3. I love the sentiment, so meaningful and inspirational. I love the large bold font. The image on the first card I have always admired and your watercoloring just enhances that. I love the shirt you painted and it looks like you planned the way it goes over the line, I love it! The second card is awesome and the dress is like one I have as well. Love a large floral on a skirt so much!

  7. I love how both cards came out and how big both the image and the sentiments are. They steal the show equally! I see what you mean with the shirt ... maybe a long row of gems below the sentiment would make it more how you intended? (Like I really need to give YOU advice! HA!) Either way, it's beautiful!
