Welcome, friends! And welcome to our April FOU Blog Hop!
Are you having Spring or Winter temperatures? We typically do not get much of a winter in this part of Texas (unlike in my Arkansas home state). However, the temps have drastically fluctuated this year! Cold mornings and hot days. Either way I am blessed and have learned to appreciate both!
This months cue is patterned paper. I am in awe of those who use patterned paper for paper piecing.
I am drawn to using black and white pattern paper as a background. Especially lines and polkadots!
My first card is one I created in February and decided to change it up a bit. I love this beautiful woman and sentiment from the February KOM.
I added a black camisole to her bust line for a more modest look. :) The fun polkadot patterned paper makes this card perfect for my teenage nieces birthday.
The succulent stamp from the June 2018 Uniquely Unitt has always been a favorite of mine. I just adore the white on black sentiment stamps from the Sept 2021 Sentiment Kit.
Hug perfectly pairs with this happy script die cut. (I can not recall who this die is from)
Loving these dots, as well!
(I have drawers full of patter paper so I am not certain where either are from.)
I used to use patterned paper quite regularly, but my style changed over the last year or 2 and is typically more Clean and Simple so I wasn't hugely creative here. I did have fun incorporating pattern paper, and am inspired to use it more often.
Let's go way back to cards from 2018 when I did use patterned paper. Wow!! Why did I ever stop!
I hope you are as inspired to use more patterned paper as much as I am! I would love to see your cards using pattern paper!
I would love to know which of my 2 newest cards are your favorite! I love them both as they creatively differ!
My hope is that you read through the entire blog. Makes my heart so happy thinking you do!
As always~
Thanks for spending time with me today!
If I may, I'd love to invite you to follow my blog.
There is a "follow" button up a bit and to the right. --->

Your cards are just lovely. I especially love the girl from the KOTM.
ReplyDeleteI remember your
ReplyDeleteolder cards! Great
ways of using the
patterned papers.
Carla from Arizona
I love using patterned papers, the second card is my favourite
ReplyDeleteThere is always such a soft, lovely, feminine, kind of dreamy vibe with every one of your ladies you create. I have always admired your pattern paper choices for each one. Annnnd always loved your encouragement in the "wonderfully unique and beautiful" sentiments you choose. Glad to see you back in the hop.
ReplyDeleteWonderful cards!
ReplyDeleteAmazing cards, Bobbie Sue! Loving the polka dot papers!! And I love the older cards you shared too! I loved your style then and I love it now!!
ReplyDeleteI love both cards for sure! I especially love the first card and the way you added the black piece under the top of her dress. You are so creative and adds wonderful contrast! The second card is so awesome and I always love the way you watercolor. The vase is amazing. Your cards from a few years back are beautiful. I hardly ever use pattern paper and this hop has really inspired me to leave it out and keep creating with it!
ReplyDeleteThese are both just beautiful! I love how you added the black camisole to her dress; genius! I am a huge fan of polka dots (and stripes!) so adore the paper you used. And your coloring is always so pretty.
ReplyDeleteI love using black/white pattern paper also. I do love how you created the cards in 2018. Using patterns is hard for me, especially large floral ones. I have a lot of 6x6 books of paper. Thanks for sharing!

I love using patterned paper on my cards so I don't have to make a background from scratch. With 3 little kids to chase after, my craft time is limited and patterned paper helps. LOVE that gorgeous card with the dress!
ReplyDeleteLove your cards and coloring! Always! I am always in awe of your creativity and skills! ❤️
ReplyDeleteBoth of your cards are wonderful, but the one with the girl in the dress really calls out to me with the simplicity of the design, the great sentiment, and beautiful image.
ReplyDeleteFabulous cards! I love the sweet image and sentiment on the first one.
ReplyDeleteI love these both and am a huge fan of yours. The camisole is creative but my favorite is that succulent card. I would never have thought to pair that paper with that stamp but I love it 😀
ReplyDeleteGreat cards using the black and white paper. Love the coloring on the girl.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful designs. Really like the soft way you've colored those lovely plants.
ReplyDeleteLove the dots! Great cards with pretty images!
ReplyDeleteBoth are beautiful cards! I love black and white with a pop of color. Great patterns, stamps, and designs. And your 2018 cards are gorgeous too with more patterned papers and bright colors. Thanks for sharing and for the inspiration!
ReplyDeleteYou wow me every. dang. month. You just shine, and love that back and white polka dot background paper so much!
ReplyDeleteThese are beautiful!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous cards Bobbie Sue!
ReplyDeleteBobbie Sue, your coloring continues to amaze me. You are so incredibly talented. My favorite of your new cards is the one for your niece. She is going to love it! Hugs to you my friend!
ReplyDeleteLove them all but my favorite is the one with the succulents!
